Creating large excel spreadsheets (xlwt) in python

posted 2008.10.06 Mon

My brother has a patch for xlwt so it can create large Excel spreadsheets in python. Without this patch memory consumption explodes for large spreadsheets. For those who are wondering, some people don't want to deal with csv ;) Their world revolves around Excel.

For those who want to learn xlwt, here's a cheatsheet for dealing with xlwt, that I wrote a bit back.

Thanks muchly for your cheatsheet - indeed, some people don't want to deal with CSV, and having presentable rather than raw data is essential.
