Ivan Krstic and OLPC, software bloat and python [pycon]

posted 2007.02.23 Fri

Matt's takeaways

This was a keynote at Pycon2007. Here are my notes. I thought they are somewhat useful in the current form. Perhaps if I get some time, I'll reformat in a more readable form. He mentioned the 2 for 1 program but said that they aren't going to be looking at commercial distribution for a bit.
  • Help out with dev.laptop.org
  • Plugins help alleviate software bloat
  • Should plugin interfaces be standardized?

UPDATE

At the request of Ivan, I'm taking down my notes. He is going to be converting this into an essay in a week or two and doens't want cliff's notes floating around.
