r2d2, the ugly robot that could

posted 2005.06.05 Sun
I just saw Revenge of the Sith (yeah I'm a little slow). All in all, I thought it was pretty good. Just have to say (and it's been said before) it's a good thing r2d2 is such a good hacker. That little guy can fix spaceships in flight, attack others, and interface with any onboard computer system (either he is very standards compliant (as are all the other ships in the galaxy) or he knows how to hack). I won't say much more other than it was interesting to note how r2 got a few new features, since he (and 3p0 for that matter) are so "old school" compared to any of the new robots. I just went to imdb view the discussion boards and they now require accounts to view them. How lame, what a great way to kill architecture of participation.... So even if you didn't really care for the movie you learned an important lesson, standards compliance is good.
